A Prayer to the Divine Creator for Creatives Everywhere

Please guard our tender hearts when the heaviness feels too much to bear.

Please lift the crushing weight of shame that says this is not our time.

Please remind us when we can’t see them that there is: an ocean, a desert, a forest, a mountain, a river, a sky full of stars.

Please help us to keep creating, whether or not we share.

Please embolden us with courage at the time when our art is most needed (even if it’s only us who needs it).

Please awaken the one(s) who will be encouraged by our work and put it in their path.

Thank you for instilling the desire to create, as well as the means to do so.

Thank you that we do not all create in the same way, and that each one of us need only do our part.

Thank you for all forms of inspiration: beauty, grief, joy, rage, curiosity, sadness, love.

Thank you for the yearning to make mosaics out of the mess.

Thank you for reminders that we are not alone on this journey.

Thank you for breath and this very day.
